Lake Stevens Lions Club is a very active club and has several projects in and around the greater Lake Stevens Area.  Some of our activities include the following:

Adopt-A-Street This is an on-going project for maintaining 20th Street NE in the City limits of Lake Stevens.  We periodically collect liter and properly dispose of it.
Aquafest Every year at the annual Lake Stevens Auquafest celebration our club is involved in a number of activities.  Our barbeque beef sandwiches are a favorite
Blood Drives Periodically our club sponsors blood drives in the community.  Watch for local advertisements about these gifts of life.
Christmas Santa Float Club members participate in several evenings of spreading Christmas cheer by Santa giving children candy canes and collecting money and/or food for the Lake Stevens Food Bank
Coffee Stop Once a year the club serves coffee and cookies to traveling motorists at the Smokey Point safety rest area on I-5.  Cash donations help to support various club activities, primarily hearing programs.
Community Supper Periodically our Club provides the food and personnel to server the free Thursday evening dinner at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Lake Stevens
Corned Beef Dinner Each spring our club puts on a traditional St. Patrick's Day dinner and fund raiser.  This has become a very popular tradition in our community
Crab Feed Dinner In 2003 our club brought back the fall crab feed dinner.   This event is one of the things that our club had become famous for and it is great to see its return
Eye Glass and Hearing Aid Recycling Several collection boxes are placed around the community for used glasses and hearing aids.   Glasses and hearing aids from the boxes are collected and sent to a Lions collection facility where they are checked out to be in proper repair.   Eventually they end up going to third world countries for their continued use.  If you know of a location that would like to have a collection box for eyeglasses or hearing aids contact Lion Bill at 425-335-1232
Flag Program For a $25 annual fee, the club will put up American flags at sponsoring local businesses on certain holidays during the year.  If your business would like to have a flag please contact us.
Golden Ears A project for the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight and Hearing.  This program provides hearing aids at a fraction of the normal cost to qualifying individuals
Hot Dog Sales Our club started out with an old ice cream vending van named "Weenie Wagon" to sell Hot Dogs, chips and sodas around the community.   In 2006 the club purchased a concession trailer to replace the aging Weenie Wagon and meet stricter health department regulations.
Lake Stevens Food Bank Throughout the year we support those in need by making donations to the Lake Stevens Food Bank.  Several of our members volunteer time at community food bank each month.
Lion of the Year Each year a club member is chosen for their outstanding service to the club and community
Local Hero Award Periodically a member or members of the community are recognized for contributions they have made.  To nominate someone for a local hero award please send us an email as to why the person deserves the award and our Local Hero Chairperson will be in contact with you.
Holiday Raffle Every year before Christmas we sell raffle tickets for a nice raffle prize.  The drawing is held just before Christmas so someone will have a nice gift.  For several years through 2005 the grand prize was a Model Train Layout.  With homes getting smaller, we found a number of people that did not have room for a train layout.  In 2006 the grand prize switched to a laptop computer.
Model Railroad Show and Swap Meet Train buffs from near and far come to town for a couple of days to enjoy the two-day show.  Due to limitations on a place to hold the model railroad show a new location is being sought.
Peace Poster Contest This contest is taken to the Jr. High Schools in our area.   Students are given a theme in which they create a drawing.  Winners progress to zone, district, and international competitions.
Scholarships Each year several $1,000 scholarships are given to graduating seniors at the Lake Stevens High Schools.  These scholarships are based on community service.  For more information contact the counseling center at the school or our Scholarship Chairperson.
Scouting Programs Lake Stevens Lions Club sponsors Cub Scout Pack 43 and Boy Scout Troop 43 in the Lake Stevens area.  Each year we recognize a scout of the year.
Sight and Hearing Eyeglasses and hearing aids are purchased by our club for children and adults in the community that cannot afford to purchase them.
Visitations Periodically our club will visit and network with other Lions Clubs in the area.
White Cane Days Each year around the first of May, Lions across the United States hand out White Canes and accept donations.  In this area all donations goes to the Northwest Sight and Hearing Foundation.
