| Adopt-A-Street |
This is an on-going project for maintaining 20th Street NE in
the City limits of Lake Stevens. We periodically collect liter and
properly dispose of it.

| Aquafest |
Every year at the annual Lake Stevens Auquafest celebration
our club is involved in a number of activities. Our barbeque beef sandwiches are a
favorite
|
| Blood Drives |
Periodically our club sponsors blood drives in the community.
Watch for local advertisements about these gifts of life.

| Christmas Santa Float |
Club members participate in several evenings of spreading Christmas cheer by Santa giving children candy canes and collecting
money and/or food for the Lake Stevens Food Bank
|
| Coffee Stop |
Once a year the club serves coffee and cookies to traveling
motorists at the Smokey Point safety rest area on I-5. Cash donations help to
support various club activities, primarily hearing programs.

| Community Supper |
Periodically our Club provides the food and
personnel to
server the free Thursday evening dinner at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Lake Stevens

| Crab Feed Dinner |
In 2003 our club brought back the fall crab feed dinner.
This event is one of the things that our club had become famous for and it is great
to see its return
|
| Eye Glass and Hearing Aid Recycling |
Several collection boxes are placed around the community
for used glasses and hearing aids.
Glasses and hearing aids from the boxes are collected and sent to a Lions collection facility
where they are checked out to be in proper repair.
Eventually they end up going to third world countries for their continued use.

| Fishing Derby |
In 2007 our club started an annual fishing derby
on Lake Stevens. This event is held on the first Saturday in June
which corresponds with the Washington State Free Fishing weekend where a
license is not required. Derby tickets can be purchased at Main
Street Coffee, Greg's Custom Rods,
as well as other locations around town.

| Flag Program |
For a $25 annual fee, the club will put up American flags at
sponsoring local businesses on certain holidays during the year. If
your business would like to have a flag please contact us.

| Golf Tournament |
Each year since 2007 our club has hosted an
Annual Golf Tournament as a fundraiser. It is a fun event with lunch
and prizes provided. Each year it gets better. For more

| Hot Dog Sales |
Our club started out with an old ice cream
vending van named "Weenie Wagon" to sell Hot Dogs, chips and sodas around
the community. In 2006 the club purchased a concession trailer
to replace the aging original Weenie Wagon in order to meet stricter health department
regulations. Our hot dog sales are part of the weekly Farmers Market
held at Cove Park during the Summer.

| Lake Stevens Food Bank |
Throughout the year we support those in need by
making donations to the Lake Stevens Food Bank. Several of our members
volunteer time at community food bank each month.

| Lion of the Year |
Each year a club member is chosen for their outstanding
service to the club and community
|
| Local Hero Award |
Periodically a member or members of the community are
recognized for contributions they have made. To nominate someone for a
local hero award please send us an email as to why the person deserves the
award and our
Local Hero Chairperson will be in contact with you.

| Holiday Raffle |
Every year before Christmas we sell raffle tickets for a
nice raffle prize. The drawing is held just before Christmas so
someone will have a nice gift. For several years through 2005 the
grand prize was a Model Train Layout. With homes getting smaller, we
found a number of people that did not have room for a train layout. In
2006 the grand prize switched to a laptop computer.

| Model Railroad Show and Swap Meet |
Train buffs from near and far come to town for a
couple of days to enjoy the two-day show. Due to limitations on a
place to hold the model railroad show a new location is being sought.

| Peace Poster Contest |
This contest is taken to the Jr. High Schools in our area.
Students are given a theme in which they create a drawing. Winners progress
to zone, district, and international competitions.

Play It By Ear
(formally known as Golden Ears) |
A lions project for the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight and
Hearing. This program provides hearing aids at a fraction of the normal cost to
qualifying individuals

| Scholarships |
Each year several $1,000 scholarships are given to graduating seniors
at the Lake Stevens High Schools. These scholarships are based on
community service. For more information contact the counseling center
at the school or our
Scholarship Chairperson.

| Scouting Programs |
Lake Stevens Lions Club sponsors Cub Scout Pack 43 and Boy
Scout Troop 43 in the Lake Stevens area. Each year we recognize a scout of
the year.

| Sight and Hearing |
Eyeglasses and hearing aids are purchased by our club for
children and adults in the community that cannot afford to purchase them.
|
| Visitations |
Periodically our club will visit and network with other Lions
Clubs in the area.
|
| White Cane Days |
Each year around the first of May, Lions across the United
States hand out White Canes and accept donations. In this area all donations goes to
the Northwest Sight and Hearing Foundation.
